Darlene is a Visiting Professor at EZU
Summer McStravick

Editor, typesetter, and graphic designer, Summer McStravick is the owner of Artichoke Editing & Print Design, which combines desktop publishing with comprehensive editing services to help individual authors, self-publishing authors, and small to midsize publishers develop print-ready materials.

Mrs. McStravick has worked as an editor, typesetter, and designer for nine years, having nimbly ushered handwritten scrawl (in a few cases!) to typed manuscript to finished book, screenplay, or catalog with nary a break. Fully adept with grammar and helpful to authors needing "just the right words," she strives to bridge the gap between author and publisher, helping both get their needs met. She is particularly fond of working with small presses, the self-publishing author, and the yet-to-be-published author.

She has edited, designed and facilitated production of books, booklets, press releases, query letters, standard author submission packets, brochures, catalogs, ad copy, order forms, product labels and packaging, and much more. Books she has designed and edited can be found on the shelves of Barnes & Noble, Crown Books, Amazon.com, and at bookstores worldwide.

Mrs. McStravick holds a B.A. in English and Writing from the University of California, San Diego, graduating summa cum laude with departmental distinction. She is also the proud recipient of the 1998 Dr. Milton S. Saier Memorial Award for Fiction and Poetry as well as the 1997 Stewart Prize in Literature. She holds a Professional Certificate in Copyediting from UCSD.

She can be reached at her office in Encinitas, California at (760) 632-9268 PST or through e-mail at editing@artichokepublishing.com or http://www.artichokepublishing.com
